Part of the Beginner's series:

Quick Answer

  • Join an active alliance on day one — activity beats raw power ranking when choosing.
  • Alliances hold up to 100 members at a maxed Alliance Hall (level 14).
  • Territory comes from Alliance Flags — each flag claims a 5×5 area, starting from 40 flags and growing with alliance tech.
  • Do your donations and help clicks daily; alliance tech buffs your whole account.
  • The endgame is alliance warfare over the Capital — the alliance that occupies it wins the Presidency.

Choosing an Alliance

The right alliance accelerates everything: help clicks cut your build timers, territory grants bonuses, rallies unlock content you can't touch solo, and alliance events pay out to every member. When evaluating:

  • Recent activity — members online across time zones, help requests answered fast.
  • Rally culture — regular Ruins and boss rallies that fill. Empty rally slots mean a passive alliance.
  • Territory position — an alliance with a coherent territory cluster can physically shelter your city among teammates.
  • Communication — an active chat or external group where wars and events get coordinated.
  • Officer coverage across time zones — the best predictor of a functional alliance, per the ranks and roles guide.

A mid-rank active alliance beats a top-rank dead one every time. As you grow, move up — loyalty to an inactive tag is loyalty to slower progress.

Alliance Infrastructure

Alliance Hall

The Alliance Hall is the heart of alliance territory — a large (12×12) structure that levels to 14, raising member capacity toward the 100 cap and anchoring the territory network.

Flags and territory

Alliance Flags extend territory: each flag claims a 5×5 footprint, alliances start with a 40-flag limit, and the Plant Flags alliance tech adds more per level. Territory is where members should migrate their cities: you gain territory bonuses, and attackers must consider the neighborhood watch. Flag placement is strategy — good alliances expand toward resources and chokepoints, not randomly. Full placement principles are in the territory and flags guide.

Alliance tech and donations

Alliance tech is funded by member donations and buffs everyone — combat, growth, and capacity lines including the flag limit. Donate daily. It's a core habit alongside the queue discipline from the first week roadmap, and donation contribution typically feeds an alliance store where speedups and resources are cheap — the tech and donations guide covers what to fund first.

Rallies: Group Content Done Right

Rallies let the alliance hit targets no solo march can — Ruins, world bosses, and enemy players. The etiquette that separates good alliances:

  • Fill rallies with your best troops, weighted per the march formation guide — a rally slot filled with T1s is a wasted slot.
  • Launch on time. People joined your rally; don't let it expire.
  • Rally capacity grows with the leader's Dispatch Center, so your strongest members usually lead. Building notes in the building priority guide.
  • Community rhythm: rally the Ruins twice daily — they drop Alliance Tech Chips that fund alliance research, and exploring them raises Prosperity. Full routine in the Ruins guide.

Alliance Warfare and the Capital

Wars start over territory, tiles, and kill events, and culminate in the fight for the Capital — the final phase of Nation Progress, beginning the Saturday a week after that phase opens, as the Capital War guide details. The alliance that seizes it wins the Presidency, whose appointed officials wield real buff titles. Even if your alliance isn't a contender, Capital season reshapes server politics — alliances pick sides, and neutral often just means undefended.

Your part as a member: keep your marches ready, answer rally calls, shield when told, and know the PvP fundamentals before a war finds you. Wars are lost by members who didn't shield, not by generals.

Alliance Events

Alliance Bounty (monthly) and the alliance phases of larger events pay out to participants — and cross-nation events like Void War and Triangle War are effectively alliance operations. Showing up to these is the difference between carrying your tag and wearing it. The full calendar logic is in the events overview.
